Religious Detox Kit
Religious Detox Kit
"The Religious Detox Kit" is built around two core outcomes designed to help you experience the fruits of a liberated life:
Holistic grounded re-reading of sacred texts
Compassionate end-of-life support for the non-religious
Many choose to step away from religion not because they lack faith or integrity, but because the environments they were raised in felt burdensome rather than life-giving. Faith has become more about fear, shame, and judgement rather than freedom, peace, and love.
We have found that after leaving, people can continue carrying unhealthy beliefs about themselves and the world that were formed in those environments. These inherited stories will keep shaping one's inner life and relationships, sometimes oppressing rather than liberating, and long after one's faith has been set aside.
Re-reading familiar texts in ways that restore dignity, freedom, and peace.
Liberated Life Bible Commentaries were written not as academic texts but as a way to detox from oppressive readings of Scripture; an invitation to experience greater Love, Joy, Freedom, and Peace.
LGBTQ+ persons have often been especially affected by the ways religious texts have been used to justify harmful narratives about identity and belonging. In response, these commentaries offer alternative readings of sacred Scripture designed to support acceptance and healing. They are organised according to the colours of the rainbow, reflecting themes of peace, inclusion, and wholeness.
Death and Dying for the Non-Religious is a guide to end-of-life care for those who no longer identify with traditional religious paths. The author’s experience working in hospice revealed that many people who have left religion feel they have no clear way to imagine the end of life, often fearing that meaning, comfort, or hope must depend on religious belief. This book offers a compassionate framework for approaching life’s final chapter with clarity, dignity, and the freedom to choose how one’s story is completed.

Detoxing from religion invites people to explore peaceful living for the good of all by grounding them in the presence of an unconditionally loving Reality, rather than in the formal institutions of faith. Whatever your religion, gender, or sexuality, God/the Holy, as you understand this, loves you, sees you, and celebrates you just as you are.
Our work centres on the way faith is lived out in relationships and identity.
Our article AN OPEN FAITH will help you understand how we approach reading sacred texts across several traditions.
