The Liberated Life: Part Seven
People carry trauma in their body due to harm inflicted on them or harm they have inflicted on others. These trauma stories can define their core identity due to the depth of the emotional injury experienced. When we immerse our life in the Presence of God/the Holy, we are invited to let go of traumatic feelings through Unconditional Love.
Trauma is present in the body due to particular circumstances that led it to be there. It was not always there. Trauma does not define our core being, and as such, does not have to be treated as though it does. We do not always have to feel the way we do, nor have we ever. Before any traumatic event, people felt their lived experience differently. There was a life before the trauma, and there can be a different life in the future. We can be reborn again in this world. This is the invitation of God/the Holy through the Way of Love.
Life is a Work of Art. Nothing is wasted. The variety of our thoughts and experiences across time and space has combined into our One Pure Being. This is My Body. This is Your Body. This is Our Body. Every aspect of our lives together is part of The Great Whole. Do not consider any part of your life as holy and other parts as profane. All your life is sacred due to the unique sum of everything that has happened to you. The same is true for all. Everything is here to teach us something. If you are ever tempted to separate life into sacred and profane, resist this, for it is not the work of God/the Holy in you. While we may lament things that have happened and harm inflicted, God/the Holy will never abandon us. Any voices of guilt, shame, and judgement you hear are not the True Voice of God/the Holy. When correction is needed, this will be done gently and with care. God/the Holy will never coerce or emotionally manipulate you to get a desired outcome. Love, Joy, Peace, and Freedom are always the work of God/the Holy.
Commit to being a Loving and Joyful Peacemaker. Be at Peace with who you are and ground yourself in relationships through the Bond of Peace. If peace is lacking, seek to understand why. Some things said and done cannot be undone, so make your peace with that and move on. Make it your aim to be free of anxious and fearful thoughts, for these are a source of anger, hatred, and violence. When you are unable to do this, understand why. Examine your life to see where stuck stories are rooted, dig around, and release them. They are phantoms sucking the life out of the present.
Where possible, make amends for wrongs committed. If this is not possible, learn the lessons and move on. Do not relive the old stories over and over in the present. We add trouble to the world by telling old stories to those who have no reason to hear them. Be wise in who you speak with about your past in case your words come back to haunt you. Maximise your freedoms and those of others by letting go of old stories. Move on and keep moving. Movement is a sign of life and growth; the fruit of God/the Holy. Do nothing to undermine this work in anyone’s life by speaking to them or about them in a way that does not honour them. We must never impede the work of God/the Holy in other people’s lives by speaking ill of them. Also, this work is hard to do, so keep asking God/the Holy to help you. Stay connected to God/the Holy.
Keep trusting that your life is immersed in the Unconditionally Loving Presence of God/the Holy. Trust that God/the Holy has your best interests at heart and wishes you and others no harm. When trouble comes, God/the Holy will be a source of Hope. Anger, hatred, and violence do not define the human condition. They are the fruits of fear and anxiety, and they will be overcome through the Way of Love. Joy, Peace, and Freedom are always the fruits of this Love. We can see evidence of this in even the darkest moments. Love is always present! When we seek the fruit of Love and testify to its presence, we embrace the Hope that in the end, Love will conquer all.
