The Liberated Life: Part Six
We are Unconditionally Loved by God/the Holy. We are gifted a taste of this Love through our various relationships with human and non-human species. The earth is a particular source of Unconditional Love, as without exception, we are gifted food, water, and air daily. The earth does not discriminate. All can receive these gifts as long as they have life in their body, no matter who they are or what they have done.
Some have experienced a significant lack of Love in their life. At times, we have all been less-than-Loving towards ourselves and others. This is not to invite shame or judgement but to open the space for lives to be filled with a richer, deeper, and more satisfying experience of Love through God/the Holy, the Infinite Source. We are never denied access to this Love. It is continually poured out into the world and every life. Whatever we have done or had done to us, nothing can or will take us away from the Love of God/the Holy.
The greatest story we can tell ourselves is that we are and will always be loved by God/the Holy. While we hold back or let go of Love if others do not act in a certain way toward us, God/the Holy will never do this. The need to be perfect, express certain truths, or engage in certain rituals to attain the Love of God/the Holy is an untruth propagated by religious-based thinking, so let that go.
Love is at the heart of God/the Holy and grounded in acceptance. The fruit of this Love is Joy, Peace, and Freedom. When we go out into the world in Joy and Peace, we do so knowing we are fully and completely loved and accepted by God/the Holy. Any lack of Joy and Peace is an opportunity to consider why we are feeling this way. We especially learn where we lack these things when we sleep.
Peaceful sleep is a true test of how we feel about ourselves and others. Anxious thoughts keeping you awake are a sign that things are out of balance. To help someone know where to begin the work of coming back to the centre, pay attention to dreams. Every part of a dream is a part of the dreamer. Dreams reveal how we feel about our life and relationships. They do not predict the future. Instead, they raise awareness of where things are heading based on present circumstances. Dreams are also our purest connection to God/the Holy. They bypass egocentric thinking.
Conscious thoughts are always subject to bias. We can easily convince ourselves that we need to do something, or that others mean something by their words or actions. Dreams short-circuit ego-driven behaviour. This is why dream imagery runs counter to our normal mode of thought. Dreams connect with our emotions, not our logical/rational mind.
